Welsh Government Selects Flexible Power Systems for Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure Framework

The Welsh government has completed the selection of suppliers for Goods and Services of its Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure Framework, choosing Flexible Power Systems (FPS) to supply Emerging Technologies (under Lot2) and Advisory Services (under Lot3).

The Framework will enable all buyers from Wales to avail services for Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure. It will be available to over 200 public sector organisations in the country, providing the Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure required to meet the growing needs of the population. The initiative is an important part of the strategy to support the government’s sustainability targets as it strives to achieve net zero carbon emissions.

FPS has been selected for its expertise in planning, specification, installation, and operational management of specialist EV chargers, such as wireless and high-powered units. FPS has gained considerable experience developing and implementing these technologies through a variety of sector-leading initiatives via previous partnerships with customers such as Edinburgh City Council and John-Lewis Partnership.

Michael Ayres, Managing Director of FPS, said: “Charging technology is a critical component of the EV transition that is evolving rapidly. It’s great to see the Welsh government taking steps to ensure that infrastructure decisions are fit for purpose and future proofed. We hope that being able to share our unique breadth of charging technology design and implementation experience will be a benefit to communities around Wales.”
