DRIVE: Deep Reinforcement Learning for Intelligent Vehicle and Energy Optimisation

Manchester Prize - Drive

We are thrilled to announce that DRIVE, our cutting-edge AI project, has been selected as a finalist for the Manchester Prize by the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology and Challenge Works (Nesta).

Every day, millions of parcels are delivered across the UK. DRIVE is helping make that process cleaner and smarter. Our AI capabilities use Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL) to make real-time smart charging decisions supporting the transition to electric commercial vehicles and reducing emissions.

We help large fleets – vans, trucks, and buses – go electric by managing vehicles, chargers, and schedules with intelligent software. DRIVE’s AI learns in a virtual world and then applies that knowledge in real-world operations, solving complex and fast-changing problems. The AI can make smart decisions in real time showcasing the tangible benefits of DRL in EV optimisation. First used in EV fleets, this technology holds promise for tackling broader energy challenges in the future.

Congratulations to the other inspiring finalists:
