To keep their trucks on the road and ensure return on investment they must charge them at high speeds, necessitating a significant investment in high power DC rapid chargers at their Duxford Depot.
They identified the potential for improving return on investment by sharing their charging infrastructure with other fleets but didn’t want to create unnecessary management overhead with administering the scheme.
FPS onboarded Welch’s charger and vehicles to our Operate platform bringing all vehicle and charger data into one place. We also deployed a proprietary transaction matching algorithm that was able to distinguish between third party trucks visiting the site to use the chargers and their own vans, cars, and trucks.
Welch’s use FPS automated transaction logs to generate bills for third party truck operators using their charging infrastructure. During the first two months of operation the system, has correctly identified 33 transactions delivering 4,200 kWh of energy.
“Partnering with Flexible Power Systems has transformed how we manage and optimize our EV charging infrastructure. Their Operate platform has made it effortless to share our charging facilities with other fleets while keeping our own operations seamless. The automated transaction tracking not only simplifies billing but also ensures accuracy and transparency. This collaboration has been key to maximizing the return on investment from our high-power charging infrastructure and advancing our sustainability goals.”
